One person. One bench. No franchise.
Mister Ed’s Fix It Shoppe is Ed — nobody else picks up the phone, and nobody else opens up your TV.
Why bring it to Ed instead of throwing it out
A short version of a longer story.
Most consumer electronics don’t fail all at once — a belt wears out, a capacitor dries up, a connector oxidizes, a motor seizes. None of that is usually worth a whole new television or laptop, and none of it is usually worth throwing away either. It’s worth about twenty minutes on a bench with the right tools and a good parts bin.
That’s the whole business. Ed diagnoses what’s actually wrong — not just what’s convenient to replace — and either fixes it by hand or tells you plainly that it isn’t worth fixing. TVs, computers and laptops, cell phones, game consoles, VCRs and DVD players, hard drives that won’t boot, and the old tapes sitting in a closet that are getting closer to unwatchable every year they wait.
There’s no call center, no ticket number, no corporate return policy. You talk to the person doing the repair. If it’s a quick fix, you’ll usually hear about it the same way — directly, no runaround.
How a repair works
No mystery diagnostics, no upsell script.
- Call, text, or email and describe what the device is doing — or not doing.
- Bring it by. Ed opens it up and diagnoses the actual fault, not just the obvious symptom.
- You get an honest answer on whether it’s worth fixing before any work starts.
- If it’s a go, it gets repaired by hand — original parts where they still hold up, good used or replacement parts where they don’t.
- Parts pulled from machines that didn’t make it get sorted and kept for the next repair, instead of landfilled.
